EDIHs give SMEs free or heavily subsidised support to test and adopt AI, including skills and training services.

KEY FACTS Total budget: funded under the Digital Europe Programme (~8.1B EUR umbrella); 83 hubs across the EU Max per applicant: not a cash grant. SMEs receive free or low-cost services worth a few thousand to low tens of thousands of euros (estimate) Co-funding: 50% EU / 50% national; services to SMEs are free or reduced Already allocated: the Latvian hub targets about 1,236 maturity assessments, 360 people in training and financing for 46 companies Open until: ongoing, engage a hub any time Eligible services: digital maturity assessment, test before invest, AI experimentation, skills training, funding advice Who can apply: SMEs, mid-caps and public bodies. In Latvia: Digital Accelerator of Latvia (DAoL, AI focus) and the Latvian IT Cluster EDIH European Digital Innovation Hubs are one stop shops, backed by EU and national funding, that help small and medium businesses adopt digital and AI technology.
